Rameshwari Devi Girls College is a government girls' college of which the main function is to impart graduate and post-graduate level education to girls in disciplines of Arts, Science and Commerce.

It is affiliated to Maharaja Surajmal Brij University, Bharatpur and is recognized by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi under sections 2f & 12 B of the UGC Act, 1956.

This college offers education to the girl students at a nominal fee as per the government norms.

Rameshwari Devi Girls College, Bharatpur is the largest girl’s college of Bharatpur Division with a strength of about 3500 regular students.  It was established as an undergraduate in 1971 with 7 subjects in the Faculty of Arts. Later, the faculty of Commerce was introduced in the academic session 1977-78 and thereafter in 1986-87, the Science stream was sanctioned by the State Government. The college, at present, has 20 subjects belonging to three streams of Science, Arts and Commerce. Post-graduation classes in Sanskrit & Sociology were started in 1994-95 whereas post-graduation in Hindi was introduced in 2009-10. 

The college has undergone two cycles of NAAC accreditation and is now ready for 3rd cycle of NAAC Inspection with two consecutive B grades earned earlier.

(ii) The powers and duties of its officers and employees.

The Powers and duties of the officers & employees are assigned by the Commissioner, Department of College Education, Rajasthan, Jaipur.

The prime duty of teaching staff is to complete the syllabi of their respective classes within stipulated time. All teachers engage classes as per UGC norms and also perform other duties assigned by Principal. Also, they perform the works associated with affiliating university, e.g. acting as Chairperson or member of Board of Studies, or other university committees/bodies, performing duties as invigilator, paper setter, examiner or evaluator, or as Research Supervisor.

Employees are bound to follow RSR and GF&AR and different circulars sent by the Department of Higher Education(Group IV), Government of Rajasthan & Commissioner, Department of College Education, Rajasthan, Jaipur and to channelize this,  different committees are formed at the college level.

The rules & regulations are decided by State Government. Various Committees & the College Office keep the records of all functioning.

College is concerned with the employees (Teaching & Non Teaching) & all students admitted to the college. All documents and records related to these are kept by the office.

(vii) The particulars of any arrangement that exists for consultation with, or representation by, the members of the public in relation to the formulation of its policy or implementation thereof.

As per direction of the State Government our institution has constituted a College Development Committee which has been registered under the Societies Act. College Principal holds the position of the Chairman of the Committee with M.P, M.L.A., two enlightened citizens, two Parents, District Collector/DM nominee & Commissioner’s nominee as members of the CDC. Vice Principal /Seniormost Faculty Members is the member secretary and one senior member is the treasurer of the CDC.

The college offers no subsidy schemes (The students are entitled to receive scholarships, the applications of which are forwarded by the college to concerned authorities. The budget of Scholarships is not received by the college and the beneficiaries directly receive scholarship amount or scholarship incentive).

Students participating in different Inter College Sports, Cultural and Academic Activities out of town are provided with TA and DA as per government norms.
